Note: be dying for/to do是固定搭配,意思是对某人或某物以及对做某事有极强烈的向往。它的关键词是die, die的意思是“死”,这里引申为“渴望”。

Kill time 消磨时间

Note: 这是一句很形象的表达, 正如我们说一个人闲得没事干的时候, 让他去洗炭一样。西方人叫他去kill time, 很容易理解吧?
